Introduction #
CLIO is a tour guide robot developed by me and my team, to enhance the visitor’s engagement and attention when participating in a guided tour in museums.
It is equipped with co-speech actions using its cute head and laser to direct the visitor’s attention to the exhibits. It is also able to navigate autonomously with its wheel-legged platform.
Results #
At the HKU Information Day 2025, CLIO was deployed to provide guided tours to visitors in the Innovation Wing, and welcomed over 600 visitors throughout the day!
This work (“Coordinate User Visual Attention with Audio Narratives for Enhanced Engagement”) has also been accepted for publication and presentation as a Late-Breaking Report submission at the HRI 2026 conference.
